LVFD – off the fireground
Our members have been busy in the community and recognizing our own over the last few weeks. We celebrated a 100th birthday; an ambulance dedication; National Night Out, hosted our local American Heritage Girls Troop, and attened Laurel’s Touch-a-Truck event. On August 5th, we celebrated our oldest living member, Laudis Turney’s 100th birthday at American Legion Post 60. Laudis is a Life member, serving 75 years with the LVFD and Navy veteran that saw action in WW2. In July, we dedicated our new ambulance in memory of our Life Member Dan Greenstein. His family along with members attended the ceremony where we recognized Dan’s unselfish contributions over the years, his dedication, and his commitment to the LVFD and community. We recently hosted the American Heritage Girls Troop 1208 where they enjoyed being up close with the fire equipmet. Laurel’s Touch-a-Truck event is very popular and we attended again this year.
