LVFD First Due Special Service at Scott Adam Court Fire

LVFD First Due Special Service at Scott Adam Court Fire

Just before 3:00 am on Friday morning, January 3, 2020, the Tower was dispatched as the first due special service for an apartment building on fire with people trapped on Scott Adam Court.

The first due Engine arrived to find fire showing from the rear of a 3-story garden-style apartment building. As crews started to set up, they found people trapped on balconies.

The Tower, with 4 volunteers, immediately went to work and threw ladders onto the balconies and affected three rescues from the 3rd floor. The Tower Officer entered the building through the front door and found two people in the terrace-level hallway.

The crew assisted in removing them to the front yard for treatment by EMS crews. Once the fire was knocked back, the crew assisted with salvage and overhaul.

In total, the LVFD had 7 volunteers, including the Deputy Chief and an Ambulance Crew, operating on the fire ground and worked alongside companies from LVRS, Prince George’s, Howard, Montgomery, and Anne Arundel County.

We can always use more volunteers to help with fires like this and other incidents! We have a great Live-In Program, so if you are interested, visit our recruitment section, to sign up today!
