2023 Joint Memorial Day Service, May 28th, 10:30am
Chief Jim Codespote, President Vic Whipple and the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) members cordially invite the public to attend their Annual Joint Memorial Day Service on Sunday, May 28, 2023, starting at 10:30am.
Each year, along with LVFD, members from the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, the American Legion Post 60 and the Laurel Police Department gather to celebrate, honor and remember those that have passed away in this long-running ceremony.
The service will be held at the Historic Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Sandy Spring Road, in Laurel. We ask everyone in attendance to please join us at 10:30am at the American Legion Post 60 Memorial site and walk with us as each organization places their Memorial wreath at their memorial stone. The service will begin once the LVFD wreath has been placed. In the event of inclement weather, the service will take place in the Laurel Municipal Center Council Chambers.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you can watch it Live on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LaurelVFD/.
