Passing of Volunteer Deputy Fire Chief Trey Kelso

IN MEMORIAM OF TREY KELSO
It is with extreme sadness to inform you that Active Volunteer Deputy Chief Trey Kelso passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2022 after suffering a medical emergency earlier in the week.
Trey had more than 22 years of service as a Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician in Prince George’s County, he was a Fire Instructor for the University of Maryland Fire Rescue Institute, and was a founding member of the Maryland Chapter of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.
His memorial arrangements are as follows:

* There will be a Fire Department memorial service held tomorrow, Saturday, October 8th at 1:00 pm at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, 7411 Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD 20707.

* For the memorial service, it is requested that you do not park on the streets surrounding the Fire House. Overflow parking for the memorial service will be at Laurel High School, 8000 Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD 20707. A shuttle will be provided.

* After the service, there will be a Fire Department Procession, ending at the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department, 4911 Prince George’s Avenue.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Trey’s name to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. If you do decide to send flowers, please have them delivered to the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday morning as the funeral home can not guarantee that they will be transported from their facility to the fire station. If they are delivered to the fire house on Friday, their freshness cannot be guaranteed for the service on Saturday.

Please continue to keep Chief Kelso’s family, friends, and Fire brothers and sisters in your prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.

Rest In Peace Trey…
