Erica Lane - First Due working fire

Around 9pm on 3 Feb, volunteer firefighters from the LVFD responded to a townhouse fire in the 7600 block of Erica Lane. It was reported smoke showing from the front of the townhouse. The fire started in ceiling of basement and spread throughout home. Thankfully working smoke alarm alerted residents.

Units from surrounding areas assisted in suppression operations including Laurel Rescue, Beltsville, and mutual aid companies from Savage, Maryland City, and Burtonsville. There were 2 Firefighter injuries and no civilian injuries, with 5 adults and 1 child displaced. Estimated loss around $145k.

A great lesson here...test your smoke alarms regularly and ensure they are in working condition!
