LVFD Runs 4 Working Fires in 5 days

2/6/15.  A working house fire on Clays Lane off of 8th Street on Friday evening marked the fourth working fire this week and the third for the day.  Engine 104 and the chief (Hull) operated on Clays Lane for approximately two hours working to extinguish a fire in the walls and attic of a 2-story single family home.  The first fire of the day was dispatched around 5am; crews were awakened for a reported house on fire on Ledbury Ct. near Laurel Regional Hospital.  Engine 104 and the chief (Hull) arrived to find a large single family home with fire showing from the attic.  The crew from Engine 104 made a quick stop keeping the fire from extending further into the house.  Then just after 3pm, Truck 10 was alerted as one of the special services on the 2nd Alarm townhouse fire in Maryland City, Anne Arundel County.  The truck crew threw ground ladders and performed overhaul.   The first fire of the week was on Monday February 2nd.  The regular LVFD company meeting had just ended around 830pm when the bells hit for a house fire on Irving St. near Rt. 198.  Engine 104 and Truck 10 responded on the call with the engine taking up the first due assignment.  Crews encountered fire in the walls and attic as a result of a fire place.
