May 4, 2014 – Engine Runs on the Working Fire Dispatch to Anne Arundel Co. Motel Fire

Just after 11pm, Engine 103 was alerted on the working fire dispatch for a motel fire at the Garden Inn at 3400 Laurel Fort Meade Rd. (Rt.198) in Maryland City Anne Arundel Co.  Dispatched as a working fire, first arriving units found fire coming from a first floor room and extending up to the second floor.  Engine 103 reverse laid from Maryland City Engine 271 5-inch supply line to a hydrant across Rt. 198.  The crew of 7 volunteers went to work to assist crews with extinguishment.  The fire was quickly knocked by the first arriving engine.  The incident was scaled back once it was determined there was no extension beyond the fire room.  Both Chief 10A (Grant) and Chief 10B (Brown) were on the scene.  Additional photos can be viewed here.
