Engine Responds to First Due House Fire - 7401 Brooklyn Bridge Road

Shortly after midnight, Company 10 and surrounding units were alerted for a reported house on fire at 7401 Brooklyn Bridge Road in West Laurel. Engine 104, with a crew of 7 volunteers, arrived on the scene to find a fire showing from a structure located well off the road in the woods. Engine 104 laid out a 5-inch supply line from Brooklyn Bridge Road, 500 feet down a very narrow driveway. At the end of the driveway, the crew found a one-story single family home with heavy fire throughout. The crew stretched a 2-inch stack-tip attack line through the front door, knocking down the majority of the fire on the first floor and attic area. Other arriving companies pulled additional lines off of Engine 104 as backup and to extinguish extension. After a short rest,  Engine 104's crew was back to work assisting on extensive overhaul. One civilian was transported by ambulance to the hospital. No fire fighter injuries were reported. Engine 104 was back in service at 5:00am.
