Laurel Volunteer Fire Department to Host Open House, October 22, 2017

Chief Duane Hull, President Vic Whipple, members of the Fire Prevention Committee and the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department membership would like to invite the public to their Annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 22, 2017.

In a fire, seconds count and those seconds can mean the difference between residents of our community escaping safely from a fire or having their lives end in tragedy. That’s why this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme: “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” is so important. It reinforces why everyone needs to have an escape plan.

The Open House will run from 12:00 to 4:00pm and is free and open to the public. Our station is located at 7411 Cherry Lane. We welcome residents of Laurel and surrounding communities to attend and bring their families and friends. We will have safety demonstrations, kid’s activities and tours of our apparatus and equipment.

Parking is free in the station’s parking lot. For more information, please contact the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department at 301-776-3600 or visit our website at
