Engine 104, Tower 10, and Chief 10 Run Five Alarm Fire In College Park

On April 24th around 1015 hours Tower 10 was alerted as the 2nd due special service on the Third Alarm for 4700 Berwyn House Road in company 12's (College Park) first due. While the Tower was responding on the call, Engine 104 was placed in service with 6 volunteers. Engine 104 was transferred to company 31 (Beltsville) before being put on the "Special Alarm" that sent the crew to the fire.

Tower 10 arrived on scene and went to side alpha where they assisted with master stream operations and other various tasks. Engine 104 was assigned to side charlie where they set up multiple master streams and water supply. Chief 10 arrived on scene and began assisting the Tower crew. The crew from Engine 104 operated on side charlie for 12 hours before being reassigned to assit the roof division with hitting hot spots. Engine 104 was placed in service around 0200 hours the next day while Tower 10 remained on scene until around 1500 hours the next day.

While the fire was going on, Engine 101 was put into serivce with 3 volunteers and took in a transfer to company 35 (Greenbelt). While at 35, Engine 101 responded to a box alarm in company 1's (Hyattsville) first due and multiple other calls. Engine 103 and Ambulance 107 were also staffed by 10 more volunteers who covered our first due
