Tower on Howard Vacant House Fire

In the mid afternoon of February 9, 2007, the station was pretty quiet. We had run one crash, which we were quickly cancelled from. Around 5:30 in the afternoon, Howard County sounded box alarm 6-6, in the area of the Phillips School, in the 8900 block of Whiskey Bottom Road. The first arriving engine from Savage arrived to find a 2 story, single family farmhouse with fire throughout the building. Considering the house was vacant, the operation was quickly declared defensive. Master and elevated streams were employed to fight the fire.

Tower 10, the first arriving special service, was assigned to the rapid intervention team. Chief 10 (Lovell) was assigned to side charlie (rear).
