June 5, 2014.  Just before 4pm Engine 103 was dispatched on the “working fire dispatch” to a house fire mutual aid to Anne Arundel County (Maryland City).  Units were on the scene of a basement fire in a one story single family home in the 400 block of Rhodesdale South.

Passing of Patrick Boyle

Patrick graduated from Laurel HIgh School, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1980 to 1986, and he was a former 911 dispatcher for Hanover County and Prince George's County. LVFD Memorial Day Ceremony at Ivy Hill Cemetery

LVFD EMS Open House and Yard Sale This Weekend

The Dime Shines at Main Street Festival

Over 30 LVFD members attended The Main Street Festival on Saturday May 10th.   The annual event is run by the City of Laurel and is attended by thousands of area residents.  This year was no different.  Members from the Dime gathered at the firehouse at 7am to finish up last minute cleaning of the apparatus.  Engines 101, 103, and 104, Ambulances 108 and 107,

LVFD Represented at Fox 5 Live in Laurel

LVFD Hosts 3 Wounded Warrior Participants

The membership of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department proudly hosted three former U.S. Marines who were participating in the 2014 Wounded Warriors Walk which started in New York City and will end at the WW II Memorial in Washington DC. The three men,  Cpl. Josh Perry of Florida, Cp.l Adam Shatatsky and Cpl. Ross Delafield, both of Virginia, spent the night with members of the LVFD.
